Day 92: Day 3 of Treatment #5

Tony slept much better Wednesday night. He took a magnesium supplement that may have helped.

Tony had a new AMU nurse today. We think her name is Shawna. There was a small discrepancy in the orders for pre-meds, which caused a slight delay. The pharmacist came up to review and verify the medications before the transfusion was administered. Thankfully, the IV held steady overnight. Tony picked up the Neulasta at the pharmacy window, and we left the hospital just after noon.

We went back to the Fisher House and packed up. There was another small delay in checking out because one of the office computers was down.

When we had our car serviced last week at the Honda dealership, we asked them to look into why there was cold air coming in on the passenger side. They determined that during the inspection last year, the cabin filter cover was removed and not replaced. They ordered a new cover, but it wouldn’t come in until after our trip to Utah.

Volunteers make quilts for veterans staying at the Fisher House. I suggested that Tony go choose one to cover his legs on the ride home, since today was quite chilly.

Will asked what time we thought we would be back, because he had an important meeting at the same time that the grands were supposed to be at horse therapy at Champ’s Heart. 😬

We drove to Pace’s in Layton and ordered halibut baskets to go. We gassed up at Sam’s Club, and I raced home in on-and-off rain, stopping just once for a bathroom break at the rest stop near Malad. I left Tony to unpack the car and took the van to get Emily and the kids. I still can’t believe it all worked out. I really dislike being rushed.

We arrived home tonight, and Jamie Scoresby was there with the most beautiful bouquet of flowers. She raises and arranges these babies herself. We donated to one of their boys’ sports teams last spring, and this was her thank-you! ☺️ It’s good to be home.

Going through something hard? Give your family one place to follow along.

Telling hard news again on every call and every text wears you out. That's why we made this blog: one place for Tony's story, updates by email, and a simple way for friends to help. I built it with HBA's Funnel Builder by typing what I wanted in plain words. If your family is walking through something hard, you can have a place like this too.
