Here we go again! Tony has to be at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at 5:45 am Monday, October 12th to check in for surgery.
We appreciate your prayers. It will be an exceptionally long day while Tony undergoes approximately 13 hours in the operating room.
On October 2nd, we met virtually on Zoom with Dr. Hilary McCrary, MD. Dr. McCrary will be doing the reconstruction part of the surgery. She explained that the implants will need to heal for four months before teeth can be snapped on. Tony has been getting really good at puréing foods in tasty combinations. He was mildly disappointed that he will continue to be toothless for a while.
This weekend, our Superman installed a new-to-us vanity and added new plumbing parts and fixtures in the main bathroom, inspected the roof, cleaned the gutters, removed the window air conditioners, hauled off our old bathroom vanity and some other junk, replaced the furnace filter and situated the chicken run for winter.
We've resurrected the blog I was building in 2017 when Tony had his tongue removed. I'll be bringing it up to date during this lengthy hospital stay if you'd like to see how far Tony has come and share his story with others.
