This week marks one year since we finally got Tony admitted to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment of Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), after watching him suffer for weeks. In hindsight, I should have insisted and taken him to the Emergency Room at the VA hospital instead of trusting that he would know when he was ill enough to warrant it.
Yesterday we made the trip to the SLC VA hospital for a follow-up blood draw, CT scan, and clinic visit.
Dr. Graham, who cared for Tony through the crisis, completed his internship and took a position in Washington State. Tony's new provider is Dr. Blake McKinley, who is from Logan, UT, and has family ties to Eastern Idaho.
Our hero is doing well and continues to build his strength back. His blood counts look great, and the CT showed no change compared to the PET scan taken in January that showed a "complete response to treatment."
